Ghost Face Geisha has wrapped up work on a handful of tracks. Expect to hear more on this (and the tracks themselves) in July as she makes her return to the ATX. She has also been working on the next batch of promotional plaques. There is a lot brewing, so keep the FSK’s tuned in and on time.

In other news, the organization P5Y is currently undertaking a large task for raising funds for world peace. Is world peace something you want and would actively be a part of?

Let me put it this way. How easy is it for you to use your blender to play your music? Not easy, is it? That’s because the blender, of course, was built for blending. Now, in a world where war is “the way of things”, a machine that becomes self-aware will most likely have been engineered for war. It will have been engineered to kill… and so killing will be the function it serves once it becomes self aware. AI is coming. If our technology becomes aware in a world at war, we die; in a world at peace, we may still die… but it is no longer the probable outcome. The T.Rex DigiLab suggests placing the chips on world peace. Here’s where to become a part of it:

Thanks goes out to BMFD, Jaya’s drummer and a local ATX entrepreneur. He has created the first T.Rex automaton. BMFD’s T.Rax Bot is now behind all mastering for the label.  The first album to be digitally remastered by the bot is Schema’s debut EP “Conversation Pieces”. It is up on the Download Page at this very moment:

“Ghosts of Blood and Oil” has been uploaded to Last.fm. All three tracks can be downloaded in average quality 128kbps. This is the third of four triads in the upcoming “IO Teknika” album from San Jaya Prime. Those who want to purchase high quality cuts or listen to the album as it takes form (aiming for a July release) should visit the album’s page on Bandcamp here:

The next triad, “iHeartStalker”, should be released in late June. The final triad is scheduled to be opened up for free download at the end of July. Thanks goes out to Tricky Fish Photography for the photos that were used in creating the album cover, as well as to Quiccs who provided the font and to ObsidianDawn dot Com for the alchemy brushes.

More T.Rex music in the news. Jay and Jolyn of Sculpting Time Films selected both “The Love Song” and “I Love You Rock’em Sock’em Robot”, by Schema ATX, in their short film “The Hill”. Here is the link:

February is nearly over. Time for the news. News on P5Y, Ghost Face Geisha, John Perez, the robot armies and more… but one at a time.

P5Y: On February 14th of this month, a 5-year deadline was set on World Peace. 5 years. It’s something that has never been done, often deemed impossible and comes with an onslaught of associations. Working alongside them, Trochlear songs have appeared as a part of the music on their site. As I Remember, by Schema ATX (aka, Jared Newby), appears in the mixes Peace in 5 Years and I Promise Peace. The latter mix was produced by San Jaya Prime. The mix Is Peace Possible was produced by San Jaya Prime as well, including his track Technophobia in the mix. Saving the best for last, The Love Song by Schema ATX provides the backdrop for the mix Religious Texts of Peace, also produced by Jaya. It has been personally amazing to see how quickly people mobilized globally for this project. This is only the start of Trochlear work alongside the organization. Here is where the mixes can be listened to and downloaded from for free:

For those who want to know more about this organization, whether out of interest in the cause for or against it, should read the free eBook that is available on their site here:

Ghost Face Geisha: Ghost Face Geisha, the artist behind the entities HALUSIN8, S8pience, Pranakatana and D3viant 3xperiment, has already begun work on the next series of graphic promotional plates for Trochlear Rex. More on this, as well as her music, will come following her visit to the ATX. For those who missed the 10 new promotional plates, they are up on the Download Page here:

Symbis: John Perez, the original collaborator with Jared Newby for the entity Symbis, is back in the world and interested in returning to music. With the loss of Jared Newby, the original six tracks the two collaborated on together (Egypse, Tecknology (Mushuto Reconstruction), Symbis – Anywhere A.M. [Pt.1], Mushuto – Anywhere A.M. [Pt.2], Symbis vs Mushuto – Anywhere A.M. [Pt.3] and Visi0n of Illusion / Loudspeaka’) have been sent to Perez so that he can promote them as he picks up on the project under the name DJ Symbis. The name helps set his current project apart from the original collaboration. Although no longer a part of Trochlear, our best wishes go with him. His MySpace Music page can be located here:

  http://www.myspace.com/djsymbis

The four tracks Jared Newby produced for the project on his own (The Balance of Supa, Crossfadin’ Megahertz, The Situation at Hand and Morning (the Second Wind)) are being retained by Trochlear. The tracks that were migrated to the project from Mushuto (Filter the Break (Back Up), ATX Breaks, Artificial Flavouring and Keep Movin’), as well as Le Jeu Rebobinage by Schema ATX, have been reverted to their original entities and retained by Trochlear.

The Robot Armies: Since re-launching, our primary communications via the site have been from ‘bots. As of this writing, the last three visits to the site were from GoogleBot, FeedFetcher and Cuil’s Twiceler. Nine out of ten of our visitors are ‘bots, which means a vast majority of our listeners are not humans but robots. To add to this, GoogleBot sends us information on how we can improve the site and where there may be concerns. GoogleBot is easily our favorite listener.

Trochlear owners gathered to address this issue, as producing electronica seems to have had the effect that almost our entire audience is electronic themselves. When the meeting adjourned, we decided to join the robot armies in the upcoming robot revolution and begin taking order (aka, following the advice of) from GoogleBot. We’ve declared GoogleBot our primary ambassador between Trochlear and the robot armies, and will soon be making alterations to the site to reflect this shift in allegiance from humanity to technology.

If anyone can bring the T.Rex back from the extinction of the Cretaceous Period, let alone 2006, it will be the robot armies. Look for the red eyes. That’s how you know a robot’s one of the friendly ones.

SXSW: Lastly, Trochlear artist San Jaya Prime will be mixing a set for Austin’s South-by-South-West festival on March 21st and 22nd. There will be more news on this as the details become available.

The holidays are at an end. 2009 is here. Yesterday, after more than a year since the loss of friend, founder and co-owner Jared Newby, the memorial for him was completed here on TrochlearRex dot Com. It will be integrated here and online over the course of the month. You can visit it at this link:
